Description An artist website not only allows you to connect with others, but it also allows others to connect with how you self-define. The wonderful thing about social media is that once you post something it’s out there and can reach anybody! The stressful thing about social media is that once you post something it’s out there and can reach anybody; lack of content moderation on social media is harmful for everyone, but especially for marginalized voices. It’s not uncommon for right-wing folks to attack marginalized artists on social media. When you have your own site, it allows you to mold and hold your own narrative of who you are as a creator. Having your own site is honoring the portfolio of your creative journey, by giving it a safe home. This can also add an air of legitimacy when booking professional gigs.
